Grants & Scholarships

CONTRIBUTIONS

AHS Foundation has contributed over $700,000 to support AHS and AHS graduates since its inception in 2009. Examples of projects supported by the Foundation include:

College & Vocational Scholarships

The Foundation Scholarship program awards several graduating AHS students financial assistance for secondary education annually.

Scholarships are awarded following a rigorous application and interview process, and can include career tech scholarships for vocational programs

The Link Crew Program

Recognizing the transition to high school can be a major event in the life of a young person, AHSF has supported the Link Crew program.

Link Crew helps create a safe and supportive school environment where freshmen learn that people at school care about them and their future.

Link Crew removes the culture of negativity, hazing and bullying toward underclassmen and replaces it with structural support and purposeful connections to make a measurable difference in student success.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

In 2018, AHSF partnered with the administration and PTSA to fund Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor training for key staff to then share with teachers.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, educators, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge, or who is in crisis.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

Promethean Boards

With help from AHSF, Promethean Boards were installed in every classroom. These interactive white boards allow teachers to make lessons more engaging and collaborative.

Marching Band Bus

AHSF helped raise $10,000 toward the marching band bus.  The marching band bus transports instruments for the Raider band, consisting of ~200 musicians, representing roughly 1 in 10 AHS students.

Soccer Benches

AHSF was happy to contribute to the soccer benches. The benches were added in 2015 to house the soccer players during their games and halftime.

Patio Project

In 2020 and 2021, AHSF facilitated donations for ~30 tables on the patio adjacent to the cafeteria.  The tables allow students the ability to sit, eat, study and enjoy the beautiful campus during lunch, or as an outdoor classroom during the day.

Help secure a firm foundation for our students.
