Farahnaz Sayani

PRESIDENT

Farahnaz, and her husband Akber, have been residents of Alpharetta for the past 20 years. She has 2 children, Eman ’20 and Ahad ’26, and has been involved in various community initiatives. Farahnaz has over 25 years of professional experience in finance, technology, and business process improvement. Currently, she serves as the Director of Transformation at a technology solutions company.  

In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Farahnaz looks forward to contributing her professional skills and diverse experiences to support the goals of the AHS Foundation and the school community it serves.

​Shaunda Edmonds, PhD

VICE PRESIDENT

Dr. Edmonds and her husband, James, are longtime residents of Alpharetta and proud parents of three sons, including a graduate of Alpharetta High School, Class of 2018.  She serves as Vice President of Global Sales and Client Relationships at a Financial Services and Payments Technology Company, where she leads strategic sales initiatives and client relationship management.

With a strong belief in the importance of educational excellence and community involvement, Dr. Edmonds supports initiatives in academics, arts, athletics and technology.  She is committed to strengthening communities, schools and creating meaningful opportunities for students to thrive.

Megan Boynton

SECRETARY

Megan is a 14-year veteran of the insurance industry, handling and supervising property, liability and catastrophe claims over the course of her career. She is also the former Manager of Nonprofit Outreach at Kern Community Foundation, and a Mentor to Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) at the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation.

Most recently, Megan enjoyed work as a Grants Coordinator with the City of Roswell, helping with research into grant opportunities, management of the City’s AmeriCorps Afterschool Project, and oversight of its Nonprofit Partnership Program. Following her daughter’s graduation from AHS, and with a Masters in Public Administration, Megan is pleased to serve as a member of the Foundation Board. 

Tania Schletty

TREASURER

Tania Schletty is the current AHSF Treasurer. She has enjoyed serving on the board since 2016. She has been a member of the community for over 12 years, and she has entrusted Alpharetta High School with the education of four children.

She is an owner and CEO of Summit Financial Solutions LLC, and she is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she also serves.

Mike Scheifflee

AHS PRINCIPAL

Mike Scheifflee began his educational journey at Alpharetta High School in 2004.

Mr. Scheifflee earned his Bachelor of Science in Art Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, his Master of Education in Art Education from the University of North Georgia, and his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University.

He taught art and became the Fine Arts Department Chair and in 2013 also assumed the role of Athletic Director for the school. By 2017, Mr. Scheifflee had made the move into administration as an Assistant Principal at Alpharetta HS. Through his varied professional experiences, Mr. Scheifflee has successfully built relationships with students of all backgrounds, from artists to athletes, and looks forward to continually supporting all of the students’ interests represented at Alpharetta.  

Mr. Scheifflee is committed to continuing to improve the Alpharetta HS student experience by focusing on continued student achievement, authentic educational experiences inside the classroom and out, and ensuring all students reach their full potential through the school’s multitude of academic, athletic, artistic, and altruistic opportunities.

Mike and his family look forward to continuing the journey they’ve always been on as honorary Alpharetta HS ambassadors. As Mr. Scheifflee enters his 21st year at Alpharetta HS, he is excited to continue leading our school’s community and advancing the innovative vision that was built under the direction of Dr. Shannon Kersey.

Katie Reeves

BOARD MEMBER

Katie and her husband moved to Alpharetta in 1989.  Her service to the local community spans over 30 years.  She has served on various Boards and Commissions, including the Alpharetta Planning Commission, the Alpharetta Tree Commission, Governor Sonny Perdue’s Investing in Excellence Task Force.

Recently Katie retired after serving 24 years on the Fulton County School Board. She currently serves as a Planning Commissioner alternate for the City of Alpharetta.

She and her husband Cliff are the proud parents of three Fulton County School graduates, Casey who graduated from Milton, and Erin and Megan who both graduated from Alpharetta High School.

 

Ken Adcox

BOARD MEMBER

Ken and his husband, Jim, have proudly called Alpharetta home for over 17 years. Throughout that time, Ken has been deeply involved in the community, serving in a variety of leadership and volunteer roles including President of The Highlands at Park Bridge HOA, Vice President of Alpharetta Junior Raiders Football, and board positions with Lake Windward Elementary PTA, New Directions for Autism, AFUMC Preschool, and the AFUMC Children’s Council.

Currently, Ken serves as Vice President of Volunteers for the Alpharetta High School (AHS) Touchdown Club. Professionally, he brings over 35 years of experience as a top-producing real estate agent in the Atlanta area and is the Managing Broker at NorthGroup Real Estate.

Ken and Jim are proud parents of a special needs son who attended Centennial High School and have a daughter and son currently attending Alpharetta High School. Ken is honored to support the AHS Foundation Board and is committed to giving back to the teachers, families, and students of the AHS community.

Jit Saha

BOARD MEMBER

Jit and his family have been proud residents of Alpharetta for over 17 years. Since 2013, he has been an active leader in the Scouts BSA organization, serving at the Pack, Troop, and District levels. He also served for eight years on the Fulton County Schools School Governance Council (SGC), holding key roles such as Parliamentarian and Budget Chair.

Jit currently serves as Chair of the Alpharetta Parks and Recreation Commission, where he helps shape programs and policies that benefit the community. He and his wife have two children in high school—one attending Alpharetta High School and the other at Innovation Academy. 

Professionally, Jit is a Cybersecurity Program Manager specializing in Federal Compliance for a global firm with a local office in Alpharetta. He is deeply passionate about supporting youth-focused initiatives and ensuring they have the resources needed to thrive.

Michelle Copeland

AHS Administrative Assistant, State Testing & Assessment Coordinator

Michelle Copeland has been a proud member of the Alpharetta High School faculty since 2012. After 13 amazing years serving students in the Fine Arts Department, she has joined the Administrative Team as AHS Testing Coordinator.

A passionate and dedicated educator, Copeland was named Alpharetta’s 2022 Teacher of the Year and has earned numerous accolades throughout her career as a choral educator. She was elected Choral Division Chair of the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) for 2023-2025 and received the 2021 GMEA Volunteer of the Year award. She looks forward to serving the broader school community as a member of the AHS Foundation board. 

Alison Patellis

BOARD MEMBER

Alison and her husband, Michael, have called Alpharetta home for 18 years. Their daughter, Piper, a senior at Alpharetta High School, will soon attend the University of Georgia, and their son, Nicholas, is currently in 8th grade and excited to begin his four years at Alpharetta High School.
 
Alison earned her Juris Doctor and previously had a career in tax and legal research. She stepped away from her professional career to focus on raising her children and has since been a dedicated volunteer within Fulton County Schools for many years. Alison currently serves as President of the Alpharetta High School Girls Flag Football program, where she has played an integral role in the program’s growth. She also currently serves as co-chair of the AHS Class of 2026 Senior Events.
 
In addition, Alison has held leadership roles with Creek View Elementary PTA, Webb Bridge Middle School PTA, and the Alpharetta High School Girls Softball program. Many of Alison’s volunteer efforts have focused on supporting teachers and staff, and she has proudly organized more staff appreciation weeks and teacher meals than she can count. She loves to support and honor the individuals making a difference for our children. Alison is so excited to join the Alpharetta High School Foundation board. She is passionate about supporting students, staff, athletics, and strengthening the school community through her volunteer service and leadership.

Nevi Persaud

BOARD MEMBER

Nevi Persaud has called Alpharetta home for 15 years.  Her son, Vincent, graduated from AHS in 2025 and is currently attending Rice University. 

She is an experienced legal operations professional and paralegal with more than 20 years of corporate law and litigation experience.  Her current role is with Progressive Insurance as a legal operations process consultant. She is a proud graduate of Agnes Scott College and Oxford College of Emory University.  Her hobbies include traveling, attending her son’s track meets, and spending time with her puppy, Marley.  Nevi looks forward to supporting the AHS Foundation and Alpharetta High School community.

Brigitte Goins

BOARD MEMBER

Brigitte Goins is a results-oriented professional with extensive experience in government, education, recruiting, and technical support. She is known for strong leadership, excellent communication, and exceptional problem-solving skills, consistently delivering high-quality work with integrity and professionalism.
 

Her diverse background includes serving as a Project Support Specialist with GDIT, where she provided high-level operational, compliance, and IT support for scientific and government medical research grant programs. She previously served as a Substitute Teacher with Frederick County Public Schools, gaining firsthand insight into student needs and school operations. Her earlier roles as a Technical Recruiter and IRS Tax Examiner further strengthened her analytical skills, quality assurance expertise, and ability to collaborate effectively with professionals at all levels.

In addition to her professional background, she served on the PTA Board at New Market Elementary School in New Market, MD for three years, working closely with school staff and administration. In this role, she helped coordinate major school events—including carnivals, silent auctions, and spirit wear sales—and supported classroom activities as a dedicated Room Mom for several years. These experiences strengthened her understanding of school operations, family engagement, and community-building initiatives. Professionally, she has supported scientific and government programs as a Project Support Assistant II with GDIT, served as a substitute teacher, recruited technical professionals, and conducted audits as an IRS Tax Examiner. She brings strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

A graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing), Brigitte is committed to advancing educational opportunities and contributing meaningfully to the Alpharetta High School Foundation.
